The new unit has 12 peak and hold injectors so a resistor box is no longer needed. It runs in direct fire so wasted spark is no longer used and a smoother, factory quality idle can be had.
It uses either a serial port or usb so hunting around for older laptops will be a thing of the past. The internal logging has an increased capacity.
It will work with the existing gauges so your AEM wideband or serial gauge will be a direct transition. AEM's Series 2 EMS is a complete engine control system that plugs into the factory harness and uses the factory sensors. This means you do not need to replace any parts of the harness or sensors, just plug the EMS into the harness and begin tuning!

I had a check engine light for coolant temp sensor my moron friend put the wrong plug on it The car was fine when I had the cel aside from low idle when cold and high idle when warm but now that I plugged the right plug in and eliminated the cel my headlights dim when I push in the throttle unless I'm above rpm's, they also dim at idle but if I rev past they will brighten back up.
I've tested my alternator and battery and both are functioning properly. I have heard some other people having similar problems when using conversion harnesses I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or if they knew how to fix it. Domeskilla Senior Member. Your car is obd2 and you have an obd2 motor. Also I will be turbo charging in april and in order to run hondata you have to be running obd1. Thread starter Rocky Start date Feb 22, Rocky New Member. Ok I am just wondering how you can tell the difference between an obd1 and an obd2 b18b1. All that is on the motor is the intake and exhaust manifold, along with the head and block. Im just wondering because when I pulled the motor, it came out of a 95 ls, but there is a sensor on the top of the intake after where the throttle body attaches, that I only see on obd2 intakes.
I just need help to determine if this is obd1 or obd2. Are there any codes on the block and head I can look at instead? Because Im not sure if its the original valve cover or not, and I dont have a clue where the oil catch can would be.
Im just looking for any information I can use to tell the difference. Like any numbers or anything that is stamped on the block and head that will let me know for sure?
